Description

Specialist social care services for blind and partially sighted people are provided by Sensory Loss Teams operating through a network of local offices.

Rehabilitation Officers provide a full range of advice and assessment services, together with individual programmes for mobility, communication and daily living skills. Low vision assessments are carried out to enable individuals to maximize the use of their residual vision.

Sight and Sound resource centres are located at Dorchester, Ferndown, Wareham, Christchurch and Bridport. They are open 10 to 12.30 and 1.30 to 4 p.m. and operate on a 'drop in' basis, with home follow up if required. The equipment on display is for evaluation only.
