Description

The Visual Impairment Service includes rehabilitation officers who are specifically trained to support blind and partially sighted people. The service focuses on enabling people with a visual impairment to be fully active and independent in the community by providing training advice and assistance to access support. Services to people that are deafblind are also undertaken by the team.

Dengate Resource Centre provides courses to develop practical skills and independence, including typing, computer skills, cooking, gardening, reading and writing, mobility and independent living skills. Support is also given to people who are deafblind.
