Organisation details

We provide expert care, advice and training to anyone affected by sight loss, right where it’s needed most. We also work with people with other disabilities and because all of this affects family, friends and colleagues, we work with them too.

We work in the north of England to enable people with sight loss and other disabilities to build the skills and independence they need, to achieve the future they want.

Across the regions we provide a wide range of community based activities to support people of all ages living with sight loss. Our three Resource Centres in Manchester, Liverpool and Newcastle provide people with more opportunities and greater choices to live independently in their communities.

This is achieved through our Independence Matters programme, a series of courses which develop skills and confidence. We also run Friendship Matters, which provides lifelong peer to peer support through our social, support and leisure groups.

This organisation is truly amazing because they support visually impaired people across the north of England and because they provide larger services more than all other organisation across the region
