Description

Previously known as Croydon Voluntary Association for the Blind.

Croydon Vision offers information, advice and advocacy, groups for specific eye conditions (AMD, glaucoma, retinitis pigmentosa, and nystagmus), peer support groups, and a range of social activities. These include:
- social activities, including handicrafts, pottery, art classes, bowls, yoga, outings and lunch clubs
- movement to music sequence dancing as an aid to mobility
- weekly talking newspaper
- computer skills and touch-typing training - computers are equipped with various screen magnification and screen reading software
- counselling service
- fortnightly low vision clinic
- in partnership with Guide Dogs, Croydon Vision offer a My Guide service, enabling blind and partially sighted people to team up with a trained, sighted volunteer to help them get out and about more.
