Organisation details

Fieldsmans Trails has developed various aids and services to provide countryside information to visually impaired people:
- Talking Pictures: coloured and tactile pictures which can be explored by touch, while an audio description and sounds capture the location
- tactile maps reproduce routes with stopping points at places of interest. When the walker returns home they can relive their journey with appropriate smells presented in a "pepper pot", to give the odour of the stopping places such as a river bank, wild flowers, peat bog. They can also be used by people at home to go for a walk in their imagination
- scripts for audio guides to countryside locations
- greetings cards in braille/large print
- tactile maps and diagrams
- design and interpretation of sensory gardens
- access audits and design recommendations
- access statements
- Crag Art (mountain pictures in relief).
