I use this service regularly because of arthritis problems. The staff are faultless and I do appreciate it very much. The main complaint I have is that for some reason, the scooters (which are really very old and tatty) have been calibrated recently so that they are so slow that it is impossible to take them outdoors at all.You are freezing before you go a few yards.Indoors they move at such a snail's pace that it is more frustrating than trying to walk.I get scooters in other centres in Glasgow etc and the scooters go at a normal pace and they are really new and pavement worthy.I know that it is a service funded partially by the local authority and the centre itself and I couldn't manage to shop without a scooter, but surely Fife shopmobility can do better with their equipment. The shops benefit from all the money we spend there.I believe the idea to reduce the speed of the scooters,or so I am told, came from the manager of the three shops in Fife.He is only putting people off hiring them. They never went fast at all,but now they are terrible.and rickety too.Hope this opinion is helpful.
