Description

The Haringey Phoenix Group works with blind and partially sighted people in Haringey and the surrounding area.

Services:
- weekly Haringey Talking Newspaper
- clubs and classes (including pottery, braille, arts, crafts, knitting, keeping fit and computers)
- monthly trip to National Portrait Gallery
- home visiting and befriending service
- information desk at North Middlesex Hospitals
- talking library
- monthly book club
- visual awareness training
- agent for the British Wireless for the Blind Fund
- regular computer training classes held on Thursdays with morning and afternoon sessions. Computers have JAWS and Supernova (speech and image magnification systems) installed. CCTV magnifiers also available to assist with reading documents. Courses cover keyboard skills, internet, email and Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel and Access).
