Owned and administered by Hastings and Rother Voluntary Association for the Blind, Healey House is the only specialist residential home for blind and partially sighted people in East Sussex.

It has accommodation for 28 permanent residents (27 single rooms and 1 double room). Most of the rooms have en suite facilities and all residents are encouraged to have their own furniture and rooms decorated to their taste. There is short-term accommodation available for holidays and respite care.

A qualified manager and deputy manager are assisted by experienced day and night care staff, kitchen and laundry staff, maintenance and cleaning staff and a gardener who takes care of the surrounding garden which all residents are encouraged to use.

There is a living room, where families are encouraged to visit. Other spacious comfortable lounges (one with a piano) and a quiet music room where records and tapes may be played, as well as a large garden which residents are encouraged to use.
