Sight Support Derbyshire is the largest voluntary service provider for visually impaired people in Derbyshire. We provide:
- demonstration of aids and equipment
- a mobile resource vehicle covering all of Derbyshire
- information and advice service including benefits advice
- home visiting and befriending scheme
- visual impairment awareness training
- volunteer recruitment, training and support
- sports, leisure, social and recreational activities
- quarterly newsletter
- minibus transport
- schools advisor and support for children and young people aged up to 18 (including youth groups, trips, after school clubs, guided play sessions and outings)
- holds the contract with Derbyshire County Council to provide rehabilitation services (including help with mobility training and everyday tasks, communication skills and low vision equipment).

The Society also runs hospital information desks at hospitals in Chester, Derby, Ilkeston and Ripley, Buxton Cavendish, and Whitworth.
