Telephones for the Blind (TFTB)
Map for Telephones for the Blind (TFTB)
The Fund helps registered-blind and partially-sighted people on a low income who live alone or with a disabled partner and who cannot afford the cost of installation of a BT telephone or need a grant towards the cost of line rental. The Fund's application form must be sent in by a Social Worker or from a recognised organisation like RNIB, and the following criteria apply:
- the applicant must live alone or with a disabled partner
- be unable to pay for the telephone from their own or their family's income.
The charity helps with a grant to cover all installation costs and up to £30 of the rental. It will not pay towards calls, nor will it pay for the telephone instrument itself.
Telephones for the Blind also provide free Doro PhoneEasy 612 (in black) mobile phones to people who are registered blind or partially sighted and who meet the criteria.
