Description

Owned by Norfolk & Norwich Association for the Blind, Thomas Tawell House offers residential accommodation for elderly blind or partially sighted people. There are 37 single rooms, all with en-suite facilities.

Facilities and activities:
- TV and Telephone point in room
- a local GP holds a weekly clinic and also will visit on request
- domiciliary dental service
- hairdresser and chiropodist visit on a regular basis
- fortnightly manicures by Red Cross volunteers
- craft class
- other activities include exercise classes, local outings and visits
- visits by a Chaplin and clergy visits can be arranged for any residents who wish to worship in their chosen religion
- sensory garden
- all new residents offered an assessment carried out by our Equipment Centre staff
- regular visits from the Sensory Support Team
- volunteer befrienders and helpers
