Map for The Eye Fund Counselling Service
Provides free counselling and emotional support to any adults affected by sight loss. The service is based at two sites: The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospital and South Liverpool NHS Treatment Centre.
Losing your sight affects every area of your life and can trigger very distressing emotions.
Counsellors are trained to listen and can help you get a clearer understanding about yourself, your problems and your feelings. Although it cannot change the circumstances for you, it can help you discover different ways of thinking, feeling and behaving. You may find that talking with someone who is trained to listen opens up strategies to deal with the changes in your life and the sometimes overwhelming feelings. Just saying how you are really feeling to someone who doesn't judge can be also be a great help.
We offer a professional and confidential space to talk, and specialise in understanding the issues that sight loss brings.
