Map for VIEWS
We are an inspirational self-help group for visually impaired people of working age in the North East of England. We aim to promote inclusion of our members into their local communities and empower them to be more independent and self-confident. VIEWS is one of only a few groups in the North East whose activities take place outside of work/college time.
We meet bi-monthly at MEA House in central Newcastle where we have a range of guest speakers and discuss the various issues and barriers facing visually impaired people and share solutions to overcome them. Our main ethos is to help each other to live as independently as possible while having lots of fun and always believing in ourselves.
We also organise a range of social and recreational activities for our 80 plus members. These include activity weekends, city breaks, theatre shows and pub quizzes to name but a few. The more sighted members of the group enable our less sighted members to be included in all activities.
