Bristol Eye Hospital is a specialist hospital providing treatment and care for people who have diseases of the eye. The hospital has over 20 eye consultants, supported by orthoptists, optometrists, pharmacists, nurse practitioners and an ECLO (Eye Clinic Liaison Officer). The eclo can answer queries on local authority assessments and registering your sight loss.
The University of Bristol Department of Ophthalmology is attached to the hospital and is involved in research into eye diseases and developing new treatments for them.
The hospital operates one of the two national corneal transplant banks for England.
