    We're a postal lending library, so any visits are by appointment only. There's usually someone in the office every weekday, but if we're not here please leave an answerphone message.

Organisation details


A nationwide postal lending library of children's books in print and braille; ideal for print readers and braille readers to share. Our books cover the full range from board books for babies up to short chapter books for newly-fluent readers, and short books for teenagers with a low reading age. We also have a collection in print and Moon. Membership is free for families, to sign up just get in touch.

Public libraries and other institutions pay an annual subscription, and can borrow up to 20 books at a time. Schools and Visual Impairment services can also borrow from our collection of around 1000 fully tactile books.

    An excellent service for helping blind or sighted adults or children of all abilities enter into the joy of touching, seeing, hearing and reading books.
