Herts Vision Loss aims to serve the estimated 36,000 people in Hertfordshire living with vision loss in 2016.
We offer the following services:
- Home visits and befriending
- Eye clinic information and support
- A resource centre and Sight Information Points
- Our Ears for Eyes counselling service for people experiencing vision loss
- ‘Sightline’ our telephone information service which answers questions and offers advice about sight loss
- An advocacy service for people with vision loss to help them get their voice heard
- We visit schools and groups to raise awareness of sight loss and talk about our work
- We facilitate social groups around Herts
Our mission is to empower the people of Hertfordshire with a visual impairment; to increase independence and reduce social isolation. We are Hertfordshire's leading independent charity supporting visually-impaired people.
Was previously known as The Hertfordshire Society for the Blind (HSB).
