The independent registered charity Infosound produces original, free, relevant and impartial information, in audio, for vision-impaired (blind and partially-sighted) people across Great Britain.
Infosound, whose mission is “to inform and to explain”, provides a frequently-updated information service, which at any one time contains roughly 25 different audio items about products, support services, benefits, holidays, mobility, daily-living, housing, employment, training, leisure, sport, money, social events, consumer matters, hobbies and relevant issues of the moment.
Importantly, Infosound also welcomes contributions from vision-impaired people who can phone-in to record a hint, tip, item of interest or comment.
The latest Infosound can be heard on the charity’s web site, on the Sonata Internet audio players, via a podcast and some items are posted on Twitter. And a monthly compilation of recent items can be posted out on non-returnable, standard audio CD.
