Description

Metro is a London-based sports and social club (primarily within the M25 area) for blind and partially sighted people of all ages.

The club's aims are:
- to enable visually impaired people to participate in sports activities at any level, all are welcome (Metro members have represented the UK at national and international events including the Paralympics).
- where possible to offer some form of financial assistance to allow members to participate and travel to events.
- to organise social events across a wide range of interests, eg theatre evenings, wine tasting, quiz nights, etc.

Metro is run by a small committee of dedicated trustee's, of whom the majority are visually impaired.

They also produce a monthly newsletter, the Metrozine and encourage all interested people and partners to come along and try out their activities across the Greater London Area.

    I would highly recommend this organisation is for the Blind and Partially sightly people. I am a severely sighted person recently started to take part with Metro Sports playing Tennis, Goal ball and Short Mat Balling and those are fantastic.
