Organisation details
Description
National Eye Research Centre is a leading UK charity funding research into the causes, prevention of and treatments for sight loss, eye disease and blindness. Recent projects funded by National Eye Research Centre include research looking into cures for some of the most debilitating eye conditions such as: age-related macular degeneration (AMD), glaucoma, keratoconus, diabetic retinopathy, uveitis, corneal graft rejection and children's eye diseases.
We receive no statutory funding and are dependent on the generosity of donations and legacies by the general public to fund our vital research programmes to combat blindness. Every year we have to turn down many excellent research applications that could lead to new treatments for eye disease and sight loss due to lack of funds. Registered charity number 1156134.
