Organisation details

The Watford Social Centre for the Blind is a local independent and self supporting charity providing an opportunity for members to socialise and enjoy activities. We meet in our own purpose built hall in the centre of Watford, a short and flat walk from many bus stops.

Members can access help and advice about equipment and gadgets for the blind and partially sighted during our weekly meetings whilst also enjoying a range of activities and outings. We offer activities including Keep Fit, Darts, Scrabble, Dominoes, art and crafts as well as enjoying entertainment from the numerous visiting musicians and schools who entertain us. The members can join others on organised outings to local places of interest and enjoy organised holidays.

The centre is a flourishing club, run purely by volunteers, for able-bodied people who have been registered blind or partially sighted to enjoy the company of others in a similar situation.

Services offered:

  • Clubs and classes
  • Social functions
  • Trips and outings
  • Support groups
