Basingstoke Active Visually Impaired Charity
A new and exciting Charity called Basingstoke Active Visually Impaired charity (BAVIC) has formed at Basingstoke sports centre.
The group have use of the swimming pool and spa facilities (for those who are Visually Impaired) at the Basingstoke sports centre between 2pm and 3.30pm.
They also do ten pin bowling (they have just come second in the league finals against Sunderland) and have a qualified masseuse available every other week, guest speakers and social coffee mornings (each Friday at 11.30am at the sports centre) where people connect and have fun.
They aim to enhance the life of visually impaired individuals and their families, by providing a support network. They believe in enabling their members to live a more active social life so that they do not feel isolated.
They are passionate about fundraising and are more than happy to discuss ideas and joint ventures.
There is a yearly membership fee of £5 per year and a small charge for some of the activities.
